When you look at Williams & Associates’ Facebook page or any of our agents Facebook page or advertisements you will notice that they do not say Real Estate Agent, they say Realtor®. So you might be thinking, “What is a Realtor®?” and “what is the difference between a Realtor® and a Real Estate Agent?” This post will explain the difference.

When someone says they are a Real Estate Agent that doesn’t mean they are a Realtor®. A Realtor® is a member of the National Association of Realtors®. The National Association of Realtors® was founded 1908 and consist of more than a million members.  As a member of the National Association of Realtors® each member must uphold to a code of ethics. The code of ethics consists of seventeen article that Realtors® follow

Here is a summary of some of the seventeen articles:

·        A Realtor® must put the interests of their clients above their own.

·        A Realtor® shall refrain from misrepresenting, exaggerating or concealing material facts.

·        A Realtor® shall not discriminate

·        Etc.
